Tasting notes
There is no doubt that 2010 was one of the best vintages this side of the millennium. Deep red with violet hints, the wine opens up with notes of ripe black fruit, dark chocolate, orange blossom, cedar, smoke and hints of tar. The palate is big and bold intertwined with the elegance you would expect from Grand Cru Pauillac. Exceptional tannin and acidity structure means this is a wine that will age for decades.

Chateau Duhart-Milon 2005, Grand Cru Classe Pauillac
£155.00 Buy One of the finest vintages of Duhart-Milon ever produced and drinking exceptionally well. The 2005 has power and intensity that are revealed from behind curtains of elegance. The nose displays a bouquet of truffle, black olive, dark fruit, tobacco and redcurrant. Moving away from the nose and onto the palate, expect velvety tannins and crisp acidity keeping it lively. Towards the end of the palate expect hints of spice and graphite minerality. -
La Pastourelle de Clerc Milon 2010, A.C. Pauillac
£65.00 Buy This is very in-keeping with the vintage stylistically, with dense black fruit and a structurally defined palate. Everything is a little muted until close to an hour in the decanter, then you can expect notes of mulberry, cassis, cinnamon, iron filings and toasted spice. There's layers of ripe black fruit that have absorbed the oak nicely and the finish shows warm slate and cedary spice.
