Tasting notes
This is extremely classy, deep purple in colour with great tension through the palate and easily one of the best vintages Ch. Clarke has ever produced. The wine opens up wonderfully in the glass with juicy, plush and vibrant black cherry fruit flavours, and tannins that are fine and well balanced. The structural impact of the wine is matched perfectly by the cassis and bilberry fruits. There’s some new oak influence of course, but it pulls the wine together and offers a smoky sweet-edged complexity. This is a modern and classy vintage of Ch. Clarke that will age effortlessly for a few decades in the magnum.

The palate is clean and expressive with freshness and tension balanced by richness of fruit and a delicate toasty savoury note. This is very clever winemaking that brings together all the qualities you expect in a fine dry white wine. No need to cellar, serve this summer with shellfish and sunshine. -
