Aussières case by Lafite (six bottle case)
Château d’Aussières was acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) in 1999. The vineyard is located in the sun-soaked region of Narbonne, in the south of France. Vines were planted across the estate that is now called Ch. Aussières as far back as 1065, but it wasn’t until 1790 that the estate was established under the name Aussières. DBR Lafite have recognised the true potential of this historic site and have invested significantly in the vineyard and adjoining Chateau. The diverse range of resulting wines seem to improve with each passing vintage.
This mixed case of six bottles include three different wines from the property.
Aussières Rosé – an elegant and fresh rosé with notes of red fruit and boiled sweets. There is a lovely fullness to the palate with a dry yet creamy finish.
Aussières Blanc – The nose offers crisp citrus fruits mingled with apricot and yellow peach, and a subtle floral note too. The palate is dry and crisp with a lovely depth of fruit which expresses both tropical and citrus notes on the finish.
Aussières Rouge – The nose opens up with notes of raspberry, cherry and black pepper. The palate is soft and supple with juicy Mediterranean fruit dominating, and a touch of spice towards the finish. This is a soft, easy drinking wine. It is well balanced and plump, and represents great value for money.
