Aruma Malbec 2018, Mendoza Argentina (Six Bottle Case)
Aruma is created at the Bodegas Caro, a joint-partnership between Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and Nicolas Catena. Aruma utilises grapes collected from parcels within the Uco Valley around the region of Lujan de Cuyo. Since its introduction in 2010, Aruma has been produced solely from hand harvested Malbec and is produced in a plush juicy style balancing elegance and power.
Malbec is all the rage in the UK, and has been for a few years. The grape variety flourishes in Mendoza, and it would be fair to say it produces the best results on the planet. As with any grape, the careful hand of the producer means everything – let’s be clear no-one knows Malbec better than the Catena family, and DBR Lafite are among the finest wine producers on the planet. It’s no surprise then that this fruit-filled, elegant Malbec delivers consistency and quality with every sip. The nose hints at violets, plum and cocoa and the palate is silky and juicy with layers of ripe black fruit. A great Malbec at a great price. What’s not to love here?
