Aguaribay Malbec 2016, Vista Flores Argentina
Aguaribay Malbec is produced from a 100ha vineyard near Vista Flores, 120km south of Mendoza, Argentina. This vineyard is owned and managed by Edmond de Rothschild Compagnie and the grapes are vinified at the Flechas de Los Andes winery. Named after the tree of the same name that grows in and protects the vineyard, the Aguaribay Malbec completes a trio of three wines created from this vineyard, and represents a single varietal blend of Malbec.
The nose offers ripe blackberry with chocolate shavings and black pepper. The palate is rich and fruit forward with bags of creamy cassis, blackberry, spice, and black tea on the finish. This approachable style of Malbec shows very well straight from the bottle with supple tannins and a juicy core of fruit.
