This guest wine has been selected for Waddesdon due to its quality, rarity and regional typicity. Morgan is the star of Beaujolais, and this appellation contains soils best suited to the grape that flourishes in Beaujolais: Gamay – this varietal can produce dilute, uninspiring wines when in the wrong hands. Although under the watchful eye of Pierre Sayove, Gamay shows off its true potential. This old vine Morgan uses grapes collected from a single vineyard on the famous hill of cote du Py. This vineyard has been owned by the Savoye family since 1852.
