Thank you for your support
Despite the past year being a difficult one for everyone, we've been very grateful for your continued support. From buying something from our online shop to reading our blog, you've helped protect our legacy for future generations.
Here are just some of the ways in which you have helped us through this past year and continue to support us…
3,650 online shop orders
With all profits going to the upkeep of Waddesdon, its gardens and collections we’re grateful for every order. Our bestsellers were Rimapere Sauvignon Blanc and Aguaribay Malbec.
13,800 explored the gardens online
From online sculpture and tree trails, to short films and blog posts many of you enjoyed Waddesdon’s beautiful gardens from the comfort of your home.
Over 15,000 watched our lockdown diaries
While we were closed our collections and gardens staff gave us a peek behind the scenes in lockdown in a series of videos.
17,500 visited our Nick Knight exhibition
In the months we were able to open, thousands of you enjoyed this exquisite exhibition of roses by British fashion photographer, Nick Knight.
Six Fischer’s turaco chicks born
Throughout the year, the Aviary team continued to work onsite to care for the birds. Your support allowed them to continue vital conservation work and they successfully bred six Fischer’s turaco chicks, a threatened species.
20,000 took a virtual tour
Despite having the House closed for most of 2020, over 20,000 of you took a closer look at some of our rooms and collections with our 360 tours.
1,000 enjoyed a beautiful backdrop
Many of you added a little Waddesdon glamour to your virtual meetings and calls with some of our favourite interiors, garden views and paintings.
And we were delighted to play our part to help…
Waddesdon chefs packing up food ready for delivery
7,332 meals delivered to the local community
The Rothschild Foundation funded a scheme working with local organisation Aspire and the local Waddesdon Community Group to provide meals for students and local residents shielding, cooked by Waddesdon’s chefs.
1,000 chocolate eggs donated
When we closed last spring we found ourselves with quite a few chocolate eggs to spare. We were delighted to deliver 900 Easter eggs to Aylesbury Food Bank, and ten boxes to John Radcliffe and Stoke Mandeville hospitals.
6kg turkey and 100 burgers donated
Having found ourselves unexpectedly closed just before Christmas, we were delighted to donate some much-needed food, sandwich fillings and frozen foods from our catering outlets to Aylesbury Vineyard foodbank.
Among the donated foods were:

10L beetroot hummus
4 wheels of brie
6kg sliced turkey
