New for 2010
Tulip Festival 1-30 April 2010
North Front
Tulips have always been an important part of the Spring display for Waddesdon and new for 2010 in association with de Jager Tulips, there will be two very special beds in fron of the House filled with a dazzling array of tulips.
Special Exhibitions
The special exhibitions for 2010 celebrate important milestones in research into areas of the collection previously undocumented. We are marking the 75th anniversary of the death of Baroness Edmond de Rothschild, mother of James, who bequeathed the Manor to the National Trust in 1957. Like her husband, Baroness Edmond was also a collector, favouring costume, textiles and accessories such as buttons, lace and fans. A selection of these items celebrates her taste and contribution to the Rothschild tradition of collecting. The exhibition of exceptional Sèvres porcelain collected by Baron Edmond continues by popular demand. The Stables Coach House has been transformed into a contemporary art space which allows us to host touring exhibitions as well as to explore contemporary art.
